Cousin Hayden

My sister Marie and her husband Ben had a baby girl this morning. Welcome Hayden Satomi Diana Rempel!! 'Can't wait for Kayla to meet her little cousin.

FooDEE Market

My friend Cindy and her friend Amanda just opened up a little store in Vancouver (41st and Knight Street) last week. I didn't know about it until I invited Cindy's sister Nancy and her little daughter Caitlin, over for dinner the other day. John and I went to visit and found out they didn't have any signs. I asked if I could make some for them and help them out a bit as they got ready for their opening. Starting up your own business is a tonne of work, I don't think I could do it. I hope all goes well with Cindy and Amanda. It was kinda fun helping them out.

Going forward. . .

Well, we got an e-mail from Phil Burns yesterday telling us about what ministry would look like in the Philippines. We feel at peace about proceeding in our application with SEND Philippines. There's lots to do from now until we leave, which could be August or September of this year and so we're really praying for everything to fall into place. It's weird being on the other end of the process because all this time we've been helping others get to the field.

Passport applications and renewals, visa applications, selling our things, figuring out what to keep and where to keep them while we're gone, visiting current supporters and raising more funds are just some of the things we have to start doing and planning for. It's overwhelming when I think about everything we have to do but I know we just have to pray that we let God go ahead of us and take it one day at a time.

P.S. Oh and by the way, after three weeks of hard work, Kayla is toilet trained (yay!).
