Rainy season in the Philippines is between June and November. Right now we are experiencing quite a bit of rain due to typhoons. Luckily, our apartment is well elevated so we don't need to worry about flooding but many people's homes are in constant danger of flooding this time of year. Not only homes but streets are flooded as well causing major havoc in traffic. We are in Language school right now and our classes have been canceled three times in the last two weeks due to heavy rain and flooding.
Last week when we were experiencing our first typhoon of the season, we noticed water leaking from the ceiling in one of our rooms. Upon further investigation, we realized that there was a hole in our roof. The other day when the Fix-It-Man was here fixing the roof, he told us that this hole was caused by a bullet - probably from a security guard or someone playing around with a gun in our neighborhood. A couple of co-workers who live across the street from us also discovered a hole in their roof, which they found out was also from a bullet. Yikes. We are thanking God for His protection from harm and danger. I'm thinking twice about making that room into a Nursery. . .
